Day Two
This was my first full day in the clinic. I have to be in the hotel lobby by 7:10 for shuttle pickup to the clinic. I met the 8 other ladies that are currently in treatment. Most of them are from the midwest but there is one from England and Canada. They are all in the 50s so they have adopted me as their daughter and ask me for help with Snapchat and their phones. Haha!
Walking into the clinic I go straight to the infusion room where they take my vitals and feed us breakfast as we are receiving our daily B17 infusion. For breakfast we had green juice, a banana smoothie type thing with super foods in them, a shot of kombucha, a frittata with spinach and brown rice. Let me tell you- the kombucha is hard to drink and I don’t like eggs especially with cooked spinach. So I enjoyed my drinks and the brown rice.
I started the day with my B17 infusion and then that was followed by my Circumin infusion. This is a light sensitive infusion. The benefits of this are anti-inflammatory, immunostimulation, antitumoral, antimetastatic, chemo & radio protective and is used preventative and therapeutically.
All of my treatments are focusing on my lungs and also my left hip/butt area where the cancer started. Luckily it has been 14 months of no cancer in that area!
Next I had my localized Infra-Red Light therapy. These light penetrate about 3 inches inside your body so it is able to heal hard to reach areas like my lungs. Many viruses, bacteria, parasites and tumor cells have a hard time living in heat so this is the benefit of this therapy.
After the red light therapy was complete I had localized hyperthermia. The idea with hyperthermia is to heat the area or your body to fever grade temperatures so the cancer cells die and can’t grow in those conditions. The procedure is completed by the nurse daily using a heated probe rubbing in circular motions. The benefits other than cancer cell death is:
- Increased blood & lymph circulation
- Increased oxygen pressure.
- Decrease in carbonic acid production & decrease tissue acidity
- Increase internal temperature
- Revitalize at a cellular level
- Increase local activity of the immune system.
After we have heated the areas we then use a cold plasma wand that is cold electric pulses that help with pain management.
I then completed my coffee enema. Next I complete an Ozone enema. They increase the oxygen content and I literally just push air into my butt. Cancer doesn’t survive in oxygen rich environments so we try to increase the oxygen in my body in a few ways.
After all of this it is probably only 11am. I head into the laser treatment room. There are typically 4 patients in here receiving the treatment. Because I received the Circumin infusion which is sensitive to light I receive 6 different light therapies: yellow, blue, red, green, infra-red & ultra violet. This is done by putting a fiber optic into my IV and then connecting that to the lights. I am hooked up to each light for 15 minutes so this therapy is an hour and a half in total. Many of these lights have similar benefits like anti-inflammatory, anti-tumoral, antimicrobial and anti aging responses. This doesn’t feel like any thing. I have this treatment every other day.
Next I head to the hyperbaric oxygen chamber. This is my favorite therapy! I lay in what looks like a space aged body bag that the nurse zips me up in. If you are claustrophobic this is not for you. I lay in this chamber for 45 minutes so it’s a great time for me to listen to my music, meditate, nap and take deep breaths since I am breathing with an oxygen tank during this time. Delivery of oxygen at high pressure has beneficial effects in overall oxygenation of the body. Increased oxygen enhances white blood cells to kill bacteria and reduce swelling.
After I come out of my space bag all relaxed I head to the Viba Machine. This is a vibrating machine I stand on for 10 minutes. It helps with circulation in my lower half. I start to feel pretty itchy part way through. But that’s a good thing! I am hoping to melts some of my fat away.
I finally get to eat lunch! I was starving after barely eating anything for breakfast. We were served carrot juice, shot of kombucha (apple flavored) & corn, peppers & mushrooms. I tried the meal and was excited for the corn and mushrooms because those are 2 of my favorite vegetables but unfortunately it was somehow undercooked & chewy at the same time. Also I don’t know what it was seasoned in so that was another turn off for me. It did come with these organic corn cracker things that I liked which I totally went to the grocery store to buy boxes of to keep on hand. So the moral of this story is… I am still hungry.
PEMF is the machine I use next. It is Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy. It is uses electrical and magnetic fields to help health issues. This re-establishes healthy electromagnetic exchanges in the body. This stimulates all levels in the body. I sit on this on my left butt for 6 minutes and then also sit against it in my back to reach my lung area.
My last treatment of the day was massage which was the best way to end my somewhat overwhelming first day.
It was time to ride the shuttle back to the hotel around 3:30. Unfortunately the food at the clinic has not been very satisfying. The juices are super sweet and the food is over seasoned or undercooked & overcooked at the same time. When I got back to the hotel I was STARVING so Mom and I headed down to the pool area and I ordered a salad and soaked up some sun. After relaxing for a bit we decided it was time for some dinner and we headed to a Japanese restaurant right across the street from the hotel. It was some of the best Japanese food I have ever had. I don’t know if it was because I was so hungry or it was familiar in a foreign place but I have a feeling I will be going back there.
