Finito- Going out with a Splash!
Today was my last day in the clinic. It was definitely bittersweet. I have made friendships here that I will always cherish but I also can't wait to sprawl out in our king sized bed... Sorry Mikayel ;)
This week I completed all of my regular treatments but a new addition to our schedule was nightly cards with our friends Catherine and Steve. We would grab dinner and play cards for 2-3 hours in the evening. It was a lot of fun to socialize and get out of the hotel room. They taught us Uker which is a midwestern card game that we will bring back to SoCal with us.
I was excited because I got to have 3 more sessions with Dr. Leslie. Most of the time patients only get 2-3 sessions with her but I somehow got 5. I am not complaining. She has really helped me process this experience and has also taught me so much in the Energy Healing world that I am so interested in.
A few days ago she introduced me to Neurotherapy. This is a therapy like acupuncture but she actually injects Procane (a non-toxic Lidocaine) into certain points. She injected about 10 spots in my upper back in the lung area and also 4 spots along my collar bone. I didn't feel anything in my back but the first injection near my right shoulder put me into hysterical tears. It didn't hurt but my energy was so blocked there and this was a release of energy & emotions. Typically after injecting Procane she does Acupuncture but I was traumatized by needles that day due to a bad reaction to my Vitamin C infusion.
We decided to skip Acupuncture but she wanted to unblock my scars. We agreed to just do my hip scar and save my lung scars for a different day. She described scars as an electrical chip that has been broken and put back together. Unfortunately when it's put back together electrical signals have a problem getting through where it was fused together. Unblocking scars helps with fibrosis and scar tissue. It is recommended to do this three times on all scars. They should eventually turn white and become soft and your electrical systems can run smoothly. I definitely feel less tenderness in the area. A couple of days later she did my lung scars... Ouch!
I have recently really started researching energy work, chakras and healing stones and I had an interesting experience on Sunday. I couldn't be in the sun again so Mikayel decided to go to the spa for massages. I was very interested in the 7 Wonders Chakra massage. It involved crystals and chakras so I was game. It was a great massage and I was able to meditate throughout. At the end of the massage I could feel the energy above my body moving and then when she rang the reiki bowls to signal it was the end I felt the energy even stronger. I grabbed & rubbed Mikayel's hand as we were waking up from the massage but this didn't feel normal. It felt very rough and like my fingertips had very fast vibrating sound waves coming out of them. This went on for a good 3 minutes. The only other time I had experienced this "feeling" is when I finish my at home ultrasound treatments and I pick up my phone too quickly after and it feels rough. I have thought about this energy and I keep coming back to the idea that my body and cells are aligned and in sync to heal. I told Dr. Leslie about this experience and all she said is "Okay, so what are you going to do with that energy because I have never heard of this happening?" I am going to heal with this new found internal energy!!!
So I am definitely leaving Cancun with a splash... literally. Get ready to laugh and feel a little bit embarrassed for me. Today was my third and final colonic. The idea of a colonic is to shoot pressurized water up your butt and then drain whatever comes out. Don't worry I am squeaky clean with very, very clean water. Anyway during the treatment I could feel the hose slipping out of my butt. I told my nurse but he didn't understand what I was saying and thought I was in pain. So shortly after that the hose had definitely come out and I could feel water going everywhere underneath me. He finally understood what was going on and instead of turning off the water and then pulling the hose out from under me he immediately pulled the hose. WATER. EVERYWHERE!! He was so calm but I was dying laughing and slightly embarrassed. Of course this would happen to me on my last day.
This experience could not have been better. Being in Cancun for 3 weeks healing is life changing in so many ways! I look forward to continuing my at home program for the next three months before I have a follow up visit. I will be having a CT scan at the end of September to check in with the little suckers living in the lungs. But I have a feeling they won't be there much longer. Once I go home I will be on a strict workout plan and eating a plant based, gluten free, dairy free and sugar free ketogenic diet with intermittent fasting. So basically air. Haha!
I want to thank all of you for your support in my healing journey. I couldn't do it without the amazing people Mikayel and I surround ourselves with. Xoxo!
